Questions
How do you say “open” and “closed” in Spanish on a sign?
“Abierto” is open and “Cerrado” is closed. For hours, signs say “Horario”, and “Regresamos en 15 minutos” means “Back in 15 minutes”.
Should a bilingual sign have both languages on it?
If your customers speak both, yes: one sign with English on top and Spanish under it is easy to read and saves space on the door. Choose “English and Spanish”.
How do I say “We speak Spanish” on a sign?
“Hablamos español.” It tells Spanish-speaking customers they’ll be understood before they walk in, so it’s worth putting on the door and in your social posts.
Is the Spanish on these signs correct?
Yes. It’s the neutral Spanish used across the US, with dates and times written the Spanish way (“jueves 26 de noviembre”, “10:00 a. m.”). Your own notes are printed as you type them.
Can I print these signs?
Choose “Printable sign” for a PDF that fits US Letter paper, or download a PNG for Instagram, Facebook or a story.
