Redirect map maker
Moving to a new website? List the old site’s pages, choose where each one goes, and download the 301 redirects, so old links and search results keep working.
Where each page goes
Leave the new website’s address empty if the domain stays the same. The suggestions clean up old addresses (no .html, lowercase, dashes); change any of them, and turn off rows you don’t need.
| Keep | Old address | New address |
|---|
Put the file on your new host (or the old one, if it stays up), then try a few old addresses to check they land on the right pages.
Free to use. Lifetime ($19, once) skips the wait before downloads and adds: Up to 2,000 pages instead of 200.
Questions
Do I need 301 redirects when I change websites?
Yes, if any of your page addresses change. A 301 redirect tells browsers and Google that a page has moved for good, so old links, bookmarks and search results still land on the right page, and the new page keeps the old one’s place in search.
What is a redirect map?
A list of every old address beside the new address it should go to. Your new host reads it as a file of 301 rules. This tool makes the list from your old site’s sitemap or links, suggests a clean new address for each, and writes the file.
Which file do I need?
_redirects for Cloudflare Pages and Netlify, .htaccess for most Apache hosting (many WordPress hosts), nginx for servers you run yourself, and CSV for a spreadsheet or a host that imports one, like Shopify or Squarespace.
Should every old page redirect to the home page?
No. Send each old page to the new page closest to it. Search engines treat a pile of redirects to the home page like missing pages, and visitors land somewhere they didn’t expect.
How many pages can it list?
Up to 200 for free, and up to 2,000 with Lifetime ($19, once). You can also paste a list of any length from a spreadsheet or your old host.
